Lea Baumert has teaching experience ranging from private students to sectionals to full wind ensembles. She was a teaching artist with the Kids' Orchestra program, teaching music fundamentals and flute students grades 2-5. She taught a large studio of private students in Richardson, TX in the Berkner and Lake Highlands clusters from 2018-2019 and again in Frisco, TX from 2021-2022. She has also taught privately and in group settings at the following public schools: Bushland High School and Middle School, Vega High School, Austin Middle School, Plainview High School, Palo Duro High School, and Canyon High School, among other schools in the Amarillo area. She continues her teaching work through observation and mentoring programs at various schools and with her current private students.
Lea's private students have placed high in TMEA Region auditions and often advance to the Area audition. Two of her former students held the positions of principal and second flutist for the Amarillo Symphony Youth Orchestra.
